Porrona is a small village built around the twelfth century, which belonged for more than five centuries to two of the most prestigious and powerful families of the Sienese nobility, the Tolomei and the Piccolomini. Subsequently, in 1894 it was bought by Pietro Emilio Targes de Rochefort, an exponent of the French high nobility.
