Tuscany was the natural choice and when they glimpsed this abandoned farmhouse it was a case of love at first sight.

La Locanda, originally a 16th century farm converted into a charming relais, has the relaxed atmosphere of a very comfortable country house that is incidentally a hotel run by its owners with the help of a small staff.

In the big house there are 6 double rooms and a suite, each with private bathroom, satellite tv and direct telephone. The nearby former stables now house the sitting room with a large fire place, library with bar and dining room, leading to a large sunny terrace.

Although the rooms have all modern conveniences, the furniture and colour schemes have been carefully chosen to keep the atmosphere of a private house.

Next to the swimming pool there is a large terrace with breath-taking views for outdoor dining.

All this makes La Locanda the perfect retreat after visiting Chianti Classico cellars, a walk through the woods or a hard day’s sightseeing in nearby Florence, Siena, Arezzo or San Gimignano.
